Memorandum of Mutual Agreement

between

Southeast Athletic Association of the Deaf (SEAAD)

and

Southern Softball Association of the Deaf (SSAD)

 

Whereas SEAAD and SSAD both serve the same regions, and

Whereas both SEAAD and SSAD both host softball and basketball tournaments, and

Whereas both SEAAD and SSAD recognize and agree to the benefits of a Mutual

Agreement to fulfill the goals of each organization to encourage the involvement and leadership of the deaf community of the same region in sports achievement,

Therefore, representatives of SEAAD and SSAD undersign below to:

AGREE that SEAAD will only host regional basketball tournament and SSAD will only host regional softball tournaments, effective with the start of this Mutual Agreement.

AGREE that SEAAD grants SSAD affiliation rights with National Softball Association of the DEAF (NSAD) and its softball organization. SEAAD will retain its affiliation rights with USA Deaf Basketball (USADB) and its basketball organization.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will both honor the suspension list of each other's organization until all related matters have been solved in a timely manner.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will provide each other a list of all players who are listed in the Hall of Fame of SEAAD and SSAD for future listing in the proper tournament or meeting program book.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will not host any invitation tournaments in the opposite sport, which the organizations have agreed is the priority of the respective organization,

SEAAD or SSAD.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will not interfere in the financial matters of each other's organization for any reason. Neither organization will enter into obligation or commitment on behalf of the other.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will keep the assets of their own organizations.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will provide each other with assistance if needed to make sure the first tournament hosted by each other's organization after the start of this

Mutual Agreement.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will continue to maintain good faith and working relationship with each other in future.

AGREE that SEAAD and SSAD will honor all delegates at large at the meeting of their annual softball and basketball regional tournaments.

Both SEAAD and SSAD agree that the effective date of this Mutual Agreement is

January 1, 2003.

We, Southeast Athletic Association of the Deaf, Inc. and Southern Softball Association of the Deaf, Inc. have agreed and are bound by the terms of this Mutual Agreement in good faith.
